Profile
Miriam’s interest in industrial property law was captured at the very beginning of her legal studies by a lecture given by the former Federal Supreme Court judge Prof. Dr. Meier-Beck. As a direct result, she planned her further legal education on that basis, completing internships with various in-house legal departments.
Miriam started her career as a lawyer at rospatt. From the start, her work concentrated on ‹green field› issues. She has a special focus on developing, pursuing and enforcing trade mark and design rights. In this area, she assists and advises clients from a wide range of sectors including automotive, toys and fashion. She manages international trade mark and design portfolios and is our first person of contact regarding application questions. Besides trademark prosecution, she devotes special attention to the enforcement of trademark rights in relation to the distribution of non-exhausted branded products. Here, Miriam represents clients before the civil courts, including the European Court of Justice, as well as before the national and international offices.
In patent law, she assists in national and international patent infringement cases in all fields of technology. In co-operation with patent attorneys, in-house patent departments and foreign law firms, she handles proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the Federal Patent Court and the European Patent Office (EPO). She is also involved in cases involving the remuneration of employee inventors.
Another major focus of her work is advising and representing companies on matters of competition law, which likewise have an often complex technical background.
Miriam was called to the bar as lawyer (Germany) in 2005.
